Recreation: Trails: LA GARITA TRAIL #793

This trail goes through all types of terrain from low country to high country towards Mesa Mountain that rises 12,944 feet above sea level.

Access:

Go north from Del Norte. Turn left at County Road #33 and follow same road to Forest Developed Road #670. Turn left and follow road to trailhead

Attractions & Considerations:

In the future, this trail will be relocated around private property. Presently, the general public has been going through private property to access this trail but need to ask permission. This trail goes through all types of terrain from low country to high country towards Mesa Mountain that rises 12,944 feet above sea level. The trail is very popular during the Big Game Hunting season and is used by horseman, ATV’s, motorcycles and foot traffic. If riding a motorized vehicle, please stop your motors for people on horseback just as a courtesy and safety precaution. Please check with the Del Norte District for access problems or any type of information.
