Recreation: Trails: DRY CREEK TRAIL #700

This trail is considered the Ole’ Dry Creek Stock Driveway which is still used to drive livestock to the high country.

Access:

Go south 2 miles on County Road #15 from Monte Vista. Turn right at FDR #265. The ole’ dirt road heads west at this intersection.

Attractions & Considerations:

This trail is considered the Ole’ Dry Creek Stock Driveway which is still used to drive livestock to the high country. Presently, other roads access the high country; consequently, most stockman prefer to use the newly developed roads. Recreationists now utilize the trail for all types of recreational activities. The trail starts at the low country and climbs steadily towards Bennett Mountain which rises 13,203 feet above sea level. The views are spectacular and there are plenty of opportunities for loops or accessing other trails and roads. Please operate motorized vehicles on designated motorized trails only. Also, please be courteous to people on horseback. Stop your motors and allow them to pass to avoid scaring the horses.
