Attractions

The elevation is 9,700 ft.

The campground, pack it in, pack it out, is located at the site of the Stunner Camp, an 1892 gold fever camp. Abandoned mines and cabins dot the surrounding area. The campground is a single loop (plus a three-site spur with no turn around) with Aspen on one side, spruce on the other and a grassy meadow in the middle. Most sites have a delightful view of the surrounding mountains with the Alamosa River flowing just below the campground.
