National Wilderness Preservation System Map
Nationalatlas.gov™ is pleased to offer a map showing the National Wilderness Preservation System for the United States of America. The Wilderness Act established the National Wilderness Preservation System in 1964, affording the highest degree of protection to some of the remaining wild public lands in the United States. The map shows all designated Wilderness areas, and the color of each area depicts which of the four Federal agencies administers the Wilderness. In addition to the map, insets on the front side show wilderness photos, a summary of the wilderness legacy, and quotes from citizens about what wilderness means to them. The back side of the map provides general information about the wilderness system in text, images, and sketches. In addition, a table lists acreage, year of establishment, and administrative information for each Wilderness. 

The map measures 42- by 46-inches and is published at a scale of 1:5,000,000. "National Wilderness Preservation System" map sells for $7.00 per sheet when ordered from the USGS. Reference stock number 101414 when ordering.

Rocky Mountain Region Wilderness Areas
This map is available for no charge at the Rocky Mountain Regional office and R2 national forests and district offices. The map shows all 47 Forest Service wilderness areas in the Rocky Mountain Region. The poster measures 36" x 24". The poster is a free handout to the public.

Wyoming Wilderness Anniversary Poster
The poster features photos from the 15 wilderenss areas in Wyoming. Photos by Erik Molvar. The poster is 24"x32" and costs $15.

40th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act Pin and Interperetive Card
The six-color lamenated pin measures 1" x 1.5" comes attached on a 4.25" x 5.5" card [314kb pdf] with information regarding the Wilderness Act and facts regarding wilderness. Colorado Wilderness Guide - 40th Anniversary Edition
The new Region Two (R2) Colorado Wilderness Map dpicts the 41 wilderness areas managed by the US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and the National Park Service.
