The viewer below has a great video showing the do's and don'ts of cutting a Christmas tree in the Pike National Forest. The information the ranger gives out can be used pretty much anywhere that you will be cutting your Christmas tree.

 

There are three Front Range Ranger Districts in the Pike National Forest where you can purchase a permit to cut your own tree:

Pikes Peak RD: Rampart Range Road Area
South Park RD: Fairplay Area
South Platte RD: Buffalo Creek Area
