ORDER
NATIONAL FOREST TRAVEL ORDER
PIKE NATIONAL FOREST
Hayman Fire Area
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(a) and (b), the
following acts are prohibited on all National Forest System lands, roads, and
trails within the Pike National Forest, Hayman Fire Area, in the counties of
Teller, Park, Douglas, and Jefferson within the State of Colorado. The
restricted area is depicted as shown on the attached map, hereby
incorporated into this order as Exhibit A.
1. Possessing or using a motor vehicle off county or forest system roads and
trails (36 CFR 261.56).
2. Parking or leaving a vehicle except in designated parking sites or in
violation of posted instructions (36 CFR 261.58(g)).
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order:
1. Persons with a Hayman fire area entrance permit specifically authorizing the
otherwise prohibited act or omission.
2. Persons operating a snowmobile on snow.
3. Any Federal, state, or local officer or member of any organized rescue or
fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
These restrictions are being implemented to protect fire rehabilitation efforts
and provide for visitor health and safety.
This order supplements existing orders 91-07 signed September 3, 1991 and 94-02
signed May 18, 1994.
This order is in effect beginning 1000 AM, MDT, April 28th, 2003 and until
rescinded.

Violations of these prohibitions are punishable by a fine of not more than
$5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not
more than 6 months, or both. (16 U.S.C.551 and 18 U.S.C. 3559 and 3571).
