The U.S. Forest Service
closes roads seasonally for many reasons. Some roads are closed
to protect wildlife at critical times of the year, others
are closed because they are not passable due to snow, snow
drifts and ice or to protect the road bed.
Boulder,
Canyon Lakes,
and Clear
Creek Ranger Districts and the Pawnee
National Grassland have specific information for your
use. For information about seasonal road closures on the Sulphur
Ranger District please contact their district
office.
The Colorado Department of Transporation (CDOT) will be closing
the gate on the Mount Evans Road at Summit Lake on Tuesday,
September 8th at 8:00 a.m. Visitors will no longer be able
to drive to the top, but still can visit the Dos Chappell
Nature Center and Summit Lake.
