Sitka Area Shelters Otstoia Survival Shelter Description: This is a three-sided Adirondack shelter on the southwestern shore of Otstoia Island. Location: Otstoia Island is a small island in Peril Straits just west of the Duffield Peninsula on Baranof Island, about 41 miles north of Sitka. Facilities: The shelter has a woodstove, plywood bunks and a small table. Rental Fee: None. Use is on a first-come, first-served basis.
