Sitka Area Shelters Long Bay Survival Shelter Description: This is a three-sided Adirondack shelter nestled in a stand of tall trees along the shoreline. Location: The shelter is on Chichagof Island on the south side of Tenakee Inlet in a small bay south of Long Bay, about 26 miles west of Chatham Straits and 14 miles west of Tenakee Springs. Facilities: The shelter has a woodstove, plywood bunks and a small table. Rental Fee: None. Use is on a first-come, first-served basis.
