Neka Hot Springs

Map showing the 8 miles of road and boardwalk trail to Neka Hot Springs from Port Frederick west of Hoonah.From Hoonah go by kayak, skiff or landing craft 16 miles southwest through Port Frederick to Eight Fathom Dock, then by land on Forest road 8580. This single-lane road is an adventure in itself. Hike, bike, ski or drive the eight miles to the trailhead. A boardwalk leads to a barrier free hot tub and toilet. Expect to see wildlife, and be on the lookout for brown bears which commonly use the area.

A circular wooden hottub features a broad boardwalk approach and a semi-circular deck, set in a muskeg with a few trees by it.An accessible boardwalk passes through a muskeg toward the Neka Hot Springs hottub.
