Route:

  • From Petersburg S and W along Wrangell Narrows and Beecher Pass to Sumner Strait. Wrangell Narrows has very strong currents that require tidal planning.
  • W along Kupreanof Island shoreline to Rocky Pass.
  • N up Rocky Pass to Kake. Strong currents require tidal planning.

Forest Service cabins available for rent on the route; must be reserved in advance. You can take Alaska Marine Highway (ferry) back to Petersburg.
