Fish Habitat Improvement

Grass and young alder grow on the banks of a pond formed in an old quarry.

An old borrow pond (one of four) connected to a Starrigavan tributary stream was dug deeper and larger to provide salmonid rearing habitat. Note grass and young alder growing along the banks. (1997 photo)
