Starrigavan Interpretive Program 2007

Campfire Talk: "Many Uses for Alaska Yellow-cedar " - Jim Case, FS interpreter. Look at the traditional and current uses of local cedar. Bring marshmallows. Roasting sticks provided. Starrigavan Amphitheater just down the trail from the Mosquito Cove Trail head.
Thursday, Aug 16, 6:30pm

Interpretive walk/talk: "The Fish of Starrigavan " - biologists Perry Edwards and Maura Santora. Look at fish life cycles, habitat and identification; connection between fish and forest.

Starts at the Starrigavan Bird Viewing Shelter along the Estuary Life Boardwalk Trail.

Smokey Bear event : "Smokey's Birthday Celebration " - All ages; Come help Smokey celebrate his 63rd birthday. Starrigavan Bayside Loop picnic shelter Site 36
Friday, Aug 31, Check FS Prerecorded Info Line 747-6685 for time and any location change Campfire Talk: "Brownies and Grizzlies - One in the Same " - Jim Case, FS interpreter. Latest information on life histories of Alaska's bears. Starrigavan Amphitheater just down the trail from the Mosquito Cove Trail head; may be last minute location change depending on bear activity in this area.
