Community Watershed Councils

The Forest Service on Prince of Wales Island actively participates on local Watershed Councils. Resource specialists have been available for technical support to local organized watershed councils.

Watershed Councils can:

• Provide community and School Education Programs
• Establish Monitoring Programs
• Identify and Implement Restoration
  Activities
• Facilitate Restoration
  Implementation
• Pursue and administer Grant Opportunities

Existing Watershed Councils on Prince of Wales Island Include:

• Klawock Watershed Council
• Kasaan Bay Watershed Council
