Projects & Plans
Much
of Prince of Wales Island is public land, managed by the Tongass
National Forest. Forest Service employees work to balance
the ecological, social and economic needs of the area. Through
sustainable management practices, long-term planning, in-depth
research and
public education, our goal is to ensure that the things that make
Prince of Wales Island so special
today, are here for future generations.
Prince of Wales Island is served by two ranger
districts:
Craig Ranger District
Thorne Bay Ranger District
