Welcome to the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor CenterWinter Hours of Operation: Visitor Center Closed. Summer Hours of Operation: Opening May 3rd Special Event: Earth Day Celebration Saturday April 21st 10am to 4pm
The Alaska Geographic bookstore will be closed for the winter. The store will be closed on Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26 as well. The last day to purchase items will be Sunday, September 27. The winter Friday night Fireside Chat programs will resume in January with presentations on various topics. From May through September, you'll pay a $3 admission fee to go into the visitor center to view the exhibits and see audio visual presentations. Funds collected here stay here to help pay for additional staffing, extended hours, and utilities. Activities outside the center building itself are free of charge, and visitors may use the restrooms and visit the bookstore without paying the fee.
