Fishing Opportunities
Enjoy
excellent freshwater fishing in the Juneau area. Although small
area lakes provide ice fishing in the winter, most effort takes
place between mid April and mid October. Most anglers target salmon,
but you can catch steelhead trout, cutthroat trout and Dolly Varden,
too. While saltwater fishing from a boat accounts for the majority
of fishing effort, here are some places to fish from the Juneau
road system. Fish on!
*Be sure to check ADF&G fishing regulations before going out;
many fish species or fishing locations have specific regulations.
