Juneau Ranger District
Fisheries Program
The Juneau District supports
a wide variety of aquatic habitats ranging from the mighty transboundary
Taku River to countless small coastal streams. All five salmon species
can be found in the district, as well as cutthroat trout, steelhead,
Dolly Varden, and eulachon.
Fisheries resources in the district offer a range of different
opportunities. Whether you are flyfishing for trophy cutthroat trout
on Turner Lake or viewing spawning sockeye salmon at Steep Creek,
we have something for everyone.
The
mission of the District Fisheries Program is to manage and protect
aquatic habitats and ecosystems for everyone to enjoy generation
after generation.
