Admiralty Island's diverse habitats, ranging from sea level to mountaintops at 4,650 feet, are home to numerous bird species.

Whether you're on the beach, in the forest, or enjoying one of the island's 14 recreational cabins, the birding opportunities are outstanding.

A total of 278 species of birds have been observed in Southeast Alaska, many on Admiralty Island.

The more highly visible species are common in tidal mudflats at low tide, during salmon runs, or during specific seasons. Remember, timing is critical!
