Description: South half of double A-frame cabin (14' x 40'). No windows.
Location: 50 miles (80 km) southeast of Yakutat near Tanis Mesa. It is situated between Tanis Mesa and the Brabazon Mountain Range.

Access: Wheeled aircraft only.
Terrain: Relatively flat with primarily blueberry bushes with interspersed cottonwood, alder and willow beginning about 1/2 mile from cabin.

What to bring: Fuel for the oil heater (#1 stove oil) drinking water, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, cooking stove, lantern, pots, pans, plates, utensils, food, toilet paper, garbage bags, fire extinguisher and fire starter.
More information: Brabazon Mountain Range about 1 mile to east, with elevations over 3000' (915 m).
Special features: Tanis Mesa is a unique geologic feature that rises to about 500 feet above cabin 1/2 mile (800 m) to west. Tanis Lake is 2 miles north of cabin and can be hiked to relatively easily except last 1/4 mile (400 m), which is dense brush. Tanis Lake is a spectacular glacial lake with Fassett Glacier cascading into it at northeast end.

Excellent mountain goat hunting in Brabazon Range; excellent moose and brown bear hunting around cabin.
