Description: 16' x 16' A-frame cabin with second floor loft. Partially covered front porch, with built-in bench, wooden cool box for food storage.
Location: 18 miles (29 km) NE of Wrangell on south side of Stikine River at Andrew Creek - Andrew Slough confluence.

Access: Shallow draft boat or floatplane (during moderate to high river levels only). Generally requires 14 foot tide or higher (Ketchikan Tide Table) to cross Stikine River tideflats. Local knowledge of river conditions and experience operating shallow draft boats may allow crossing tideflats on smaller tides. Low river levels limit access to cabin by boat and plane.
Terrain: Moderately steep immediately in front of cabin. Adjacent slopes gentle to moderate. Surrounding area primarily Sitka spruce and western hemlock.

Water is available from nearby creek west of cabin -- Treat all water before using!
What to bring: Sleeping bags, sleeping pads, cooking stove, lantern, pots, pans, plates, utensils, food, toilet paper, garbage bags, fire extinguisher and fire starter. It's also a good idea to bring your own water.
More information: Boardwalk and staircase to cabin from dock at edge of slough. Cabin overlooks confluence of Andrew Slough and Andrew Creek.
Special features:
  • Wildlife:Brown bear, black bear, moose, harbor seal, bald eagle, and gull (July - Aug.)
  • Fish: Pink, silver, king salmon, cutthroat trout, Dolly Varden in Andrews Creek
  • Creeks: Two (2) miles of slow moving clear water near cabin provide ideal opportunities for canoeing or kayaking up Andrew Creek at river stages over 14 feet.
