Access: By shallow draft boat with 14' tide or float plane with 16' tide; 22 miles (35.4 km) from Wrangell, 20 miles (32.2 km) from Petersburg.
Terrain: Relatively flat with grass, shrubs on tideflats; cabin in fringe between tideflats and spruce-hemlock forest; low forested hills behind cabin.

Water available from catchment. Treat all water before using.
What to bring: Sleeping bags, sleeping pads, cooking stove, lantern, pots, pans, plates, utensils, food, toilet paper, garbage bags, fire extinguisher, and fire starter. Rubber boots recommended. It's a good idea to bring your own water.
More information: DO NOT leave any food when vacating the cabin. Pack out what you bring in.
Special features: Good bird viewing (spring, fall migrations). Waterfowl, moose hunting (fall). Waterfowl, shorebirds, bald eagles, owls, hawks, moose, brown bear, black bear in area. Wildflowers (May - June).

Feature: Located in the Stikine - LeConte Wilderness, LeConte Bay and LeConte Glacier within boating distance; icebergs in LeConte Bay and along Horn Cliffs

2.7-mile Mallard Slough Trail from cabin to LeConte Bay; minimal surfacing first .4 mile, none thereafter.
