Access: By shallow draft boat at 15' tide, float plane at 17' tide; 12 miles (19.3 km) from Wrangell, 7 miles (11.25 km) from Banana Point boat launch ramp on Mitkof Island
Terrain: Flat, grass and shrubs on tideflats. Cabin on low rock outcropping amid spruce and hemlock trees
Facilities:
  • 2 double plywood bunks
  • 2 single plywood bunks
  • Table and benches
  • Oil stove (#1 stove oil only, NOT provided)
  • Broom
  • Outhouse toilet
Water available from catchment. Treat all water before using.
What to bring: #1 stove oil, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, cooking stove, lantern, pots, pans, plates, utensils, food, toilet paper, garbage bags, fire extinguisher, and fire starter. Rubber boots recommended.
More information: DO NOT leave any food when vacating cabin. Pack out what you bring in.
Special features: Waterfowl, shorebirds, bald eagles, owls, hawks. Good bird viewing (spring and fall migrations). Waterfowl hunting (fall).

Located in Stikine-LeConte Wilderness; Gut Island #2 Cabin a few hundred feet east. Trail connects the 2 cabins.
