Safety Alert for White Sulpher Springs Cabin: The bathhouse at White Sulphur Springs on Chichagof Island (near the White Sulphur Springs Cabin) is closed for use until further notice. The building is in poor structural condition and is at risk of collapse under wind or snow loads. An undeveloped outdoor pool near the bathhouse is available for soaking.
2012 Alert for White Sulpher Springs Cabin: There is a 2011 cabin alert under the description section that needs to be removed and replaced with the following: 2012 Alert for White Sulpher Springs Cabin: This cabin is scheduled for replacement sometime in 2012. It is unclear what dates the cabin will be unavailable for reservations in 2012. This is a “heads up” to potential White Sulpher Springs Cabin users in 2012 that once specific dates will be known, the NRRS (www.recreation.gov) will be instructed to cancel reservations that fall within the reconstruction dates. The Forest Service regrets any inconvenience this may cause. However, new cabins are enjoyable to everyone. |
