Harbor-Gavan Survival Shelter

Season of use:	Year-round
Description:	Four-sided hut with no stove.
Location:	On Harbor Mountain-Gavan Hill Trail about 3 miles northeast of Sitka.
Access:	Hike in.
Terrain:	2,500-foot elevation sub-alpine meadow near the saddle between Harbor Mountain and Gavan Hill
Facilities:	This is an emergency shelter. It is not intended for extended overnight use.
What to bring:	Everyything you need to spend an unexpected night at 2,500 feet above sea level.
More information:	Campfires discouraged in this sensitive sub-alpine environment.
Special features:	Use on first-come, first-served basis. No rental fee.
