Location: 41 miles (66 km) west of Hoonah and 67 miles (108 km) northwest of Sitka on southwest tip of Yakobi Island within West Chichagof-Yakobi Wilderness Area.

Access: 1-hour float plane flight from Sitka or Juneau or by boat
Terrain: Relatively flat around cabin. Although access from float plane landing site by beach is steep, it is short.

Water available from small stream near cabin. Treat all water before using.
What to bring: Sleeping bags, sleeping pads, cooking stove, lantern, pots, pans, plates, utensils, food, toilet paper, garbage bags, fire extinguisher and fire starter. It's a good idea to bring your own water.
More information: Safe anchorage for boats, but use charts to enter the harbor and take it slow; there are rocks. Float planes can land easily.

Cabin was built in the 1940s by a fisherman, and is still a cozy cabin.

Special features: Area has rugged, rocky coastline with abundant seashore life and beautiful scenery of West Chichagof-Yakobi Wilderness Area.

Access to outside coast of Yakobi Island possible from cabin. Outside waters are unprotected and can be very dangerous for small boats. Greentop Harbor a welcomed stop for people kayaking along outer coast of Yakobi Island. Excellent sea kayaking and boating in numerous coves and protected bays.

Two other cabins in close proximity, though not visible are under special use permit from Forest Service to private individuals.

Brown bear and deer are commonly seen in the area, and sea otters are sometimes seen.
