| Access: |
Via State Highway 929. Forest Service provides
small aluminum skiff to reach cabin. Floatplanes can land
on lake.

| Terrain: |
Rolling terrain. Large muskeg extends
several miles west of lake. Trees sparse, mostly scrubby
lodgepole pine, looking much like Japanese
bonsai.
Small
ponds nearby with birds,
variety of plant and insect life. |

| What to bring: |
Bring your own personal flotation devices, sleeping bags,
sleeping pads, cooking stove, lantern, pots, pans, plates,
utensils, food, toilet paper, garbage bags, and fire starter.
It's a good idea to bring water. Please take your fuel container with you when you leave. |

Black bear are unpredictable and potentially dangerous
to humans; treat them with respect. |

Easy drive to lower Thorne River, excellent
fishing, boating. Hiking trails, fish, wildlife viewing
areas, day-use areas nearby. Black bear, Sitka black-tailed
deer, eagles, martin, mink, otter. Cutthroat, dolly varden,
sockeye salmon in lake. |
