Float plane or boat from Petersburg or Wrangell. 14' tide
needed to reach cabin; rapids south of the Salt Chuck navigable
only at high slack tide.

Water is available from a small stream near the cabin. Treat

Fuel for the oil heater (#1 stove oil or kerosene only),
personal flotation devices, sleeping bags, sleeping pads,
cooking stove, lantern, pots, pans, plates, utensils, food,
toilet paper, garbage bags, fire extinguisher and fire starter.
It's a good idea to bring your own water. |

Fishing for Steelhead trout, Coho salmon; hunting for
bear, grouse, waterfowl. Portage
Mountain Loop Trail, which links Salt Chuck East to
Portage Bay and Petersburg Lake Cabins, passes behind the
