Description: A-frame cabin with sleeping loft reached by ladder.
Location: On west end of Harvey Lake on Woewodski Island near Duncan Canal, 1/2 mile hike from salt water.

Access: Boat (21 miles, 35.5 km) and 1/2-mile (.8 km) hike or float plane (18 miles, 29 km) from Petersburg.
Terrain: Cabin near sandy beach with swimming area; elevation 100 feet (30.5 m), surrounded by forested hills.

Water is available from the lake or nearby creek. Treat all water before using.
What to bring: Sleeping bags, sleeping pads, cooking stove, lantern, pots, pans, plates, utensils, food, toilet paper, garbage bags, fire extinguisher, fire starter, personal flotation devices and rubber boots. It's a good idea to bring your own water.
More information: Best boat mooring 50 yards south of red and white diamond trailhead marker. Boats will go dry at low tide unless anchored in this hole.
Special features: Deer, moose, seasonal populations of ducks, loons. Cutthroat trout in the lake, coho near the mouth of Harvey Creek.

Woewodski Island has a long history of mining, with remnants of mines and current exploratory activities in the area.

Cabin reached by Harvey Lake Trail beginning at saltwater and gradually climbing uphill paralleling Harvey Creek. Easy, pleasant walk.
