Location: 40 air miles (64 km) or 66 water miles (106 km) from Petersburg; 26 water miles (42 km) from Kake, in Rocky Pass in Keku Strait.

Access:  By floatplane or boat from Petersburg or Kake. 16' tide required for access by plane; expect a ½-mile hike if arriving by boat at low tide.
Terrain: Cabin sits on narrow isthmus of land surrounded by tide flats for several miles to the south.

  • Wooden table and benches
  • Oil heater (#1 fuel oil only)
  • Pit-type outhouse
Water is available from a small creek 1/4 mile south of the cabin. Treat all water before using.
What to bring: Fuel for the oil heater (#1 stove oil or kerosene only), sleeping bags, sleeping pads, cooking stove, lantern, pots, pans, plates, utensils, food, toilet paper, garbage bags, fire extinguisher and fire starter. It's a good idea to bring your own water.
More information: Stove is for heating purposes only and burns #1 heating oil. Has brown enamel finish and slightly domed top.
Special features: Excellent waterfowl resting area. Goose, grouse, seal and bear hunting. Good coho salmon fishing. Kayakers and canoers often find this cabin a welcome haven from inclement weather. Tidal flats a rock hound's paradise.
