Float plane or boat. May be inaccessible in fall, winter
and early spring due to frozen lake surface (float plane
can't land). Boat access via 2-mile (3 km) hike from Short
Bay. Anchor buoy in Short Bay.

Flotation devices, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, cooking
stove, lantern, pots, pans, plates, utensils, food, toilet
paper, garbage bags, fire extinguisher and fire starter.
It's a good idea to bring your own water. |

Please conserve firewood; supplied firewood is for stove

| Special features: |
Spectacular view of steep mountains directly across the
lake with clinging ice fields visible through much of the
season. Trail
follows lake shore to outlet, crosses scenic open muskeg
on the way to Short Bay.
Steelhead and salmon runs in short Creek. Resident trout
and dolly varden in lake. Sitka blacktail deer, black
bear, brown bear, mountain goat, wolf, beaver, marten,
mink, and otter. |
