Description: Rustic style 12' x 14' Pan-Abode log cabin.
Location: 50 miles (80 km) from Ketchikan north of Yes Bay on Wolverine Island near outlet of McDonald Lake

Access: Floatplane or boat. May be inaccessible in fall, winter and early spring due to frozen lake surface (float planes cannot land). Salt water access via hike from Yes Bay to McDonald Lake via a 1.5 mile(2.4 km) trail.
Terrain: Old-growth cedar, Sitka spruce, and western hemlock rain forest.

Water is available from a nearby creek. Treat all water before using.
What to bring: Personal flotation devices, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, cooking stove, lantern, pots, pans, plates, utensils, food, toilet paper, garbage bags, fire extinguisher and fire starter. It's a good idea to bring your own water.
More information: Please conserve firewood; supplied firewood is for wood stove use only.

No buoy at Yes Bay trailhead. Skiff at cabin uses short shaft motor (not provided).

Special features: Trail to Wolverine Creek and a 1930s Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) 3-sided shelter.

Steelhead and salmon runs up to Wolverine Creek. Resident trout and dolly varden in lake. Sitka blacktail deer, black bear, beaver, wolf, marten, mink, and otter.
