Description: Rustic style 12' x 14' Pan-Abode log cabin.
Location: East shore of Helm Bay near the mouth of Helm Creek, 24 miles (39 km) from Ketchikan or 12 miles (19 km) from the Clover Pass area.

Access: Float plane or boat, with a buoy located directly in front of the cabin.
Terrain: Cabin faces northwest with good view toward head of Helm Bay. It is adjacent to a large salt water tidal flat at the outlet of Helm Creek. Moderately steep sloping beach in front of cabin where a skiff can be landed.

Water is available from a creek near the cabin. Treat all water before using.
What to bring: Sleeping bags, sleeping pads, cooking stove, lantern, pots, pans, plates, utensils, food, toilet paper, garbage bags, fire extinguisher and fire starter. It's a good idea to bring your own water.
More information: Cabin reservation does not include exclusive use of the buoy. Buoy is on first-come, first-serve basis; more than one vessel is allowed if first party there agrees.

Please conserve firewood; supplied firewood is for wood stove use only. Collect your own beach/driftwood for campfires.

Special features: Helm Bay noted for crab, salmon, halibut, and red snapper. Sitka blacktail deer, mountain goat, black bear, brown bear, and seals in area. Trout and dolly varden in nearby Helm Lake. No trail to the lake.
