Description: This is a rustic style 12' x 14' Pan-Abode log cabin.
Location: 15 miles (24 km) from Ketchikan within the Naha Recreation Area near the outlet of Heckman Lake at the end of the Naha National Recreation Trail.

Access: Float plane to Heckman Lake or hiking 6 miles (10 km) up the trail from Naha Bay. Lake depth varies with rainfall, lake may be frozen November through March.
Terrain: Cabin sits on a low knoll and is backed by old-growth trees. The trail from the cabin winds downstream along the river through old-growth Sitka spruce and western hemlock rain forest.

Water is available from a nearby creek or lake. Treat all water before using.
What to bring: Personal flotation devices, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, cooking stove, lantern, pots, pans, plates, utensils, food, toilet paper, garbage bags, fire extinguisher and fire starter. It's a good idea to bring your own water.
More information: The skiff at this cabin uses a short shaft motor (not provided). Please conserve firewood; supplied firewood is for wood stove use only.
Special features: Steelhead and salmon runs, resident trout and dolly varden in the Naha River. Sitka blacktail deer, black bear, beaver, marten, otter, mink, and wolf. Trumpeter swans on lakes of recreation area.
