Description: Rustic style 12' x 14' Pan-Abode log cabin.
Location: 20 air miles (32 km) from Ketchikan at the northern end of Thorne Arm.

Treat all water before using.

What to bring: Fuel for the oil heater (#1 diesel), sleeping bags, sleeping pads, cooking stove, lantern, pots, pans, plates, utensils, food, toilet paper, garbage bags, fire extinguisher and fire starter. It's a good idea to bring your own water. Transport oil for stove in an FAA approved container or jerry jug.
More information: Cabin reservation does not include exclusive use of the buoy. Buoy is on first-come, first-serve basis; more than one vessel is allowed if first party there agrees.
Special features: Cabin is located where Fish Creek cascades into Thorne Arm. Two trails from the cabin site area, Low Lake Trail and Gokachin Lake Trail. Low Lake Trail leads to Big Lake in Misty Fiords National Monument wilderness, following along Low Lake and Fish Creek on the way. Gokachin Lake Trail starts across the outlet of Fish Creek and leads to Star Lake.

Salmon and steelhead runs, resident trout and dolly varden in Fish Creek. Halibut, salmon, and crab in salt water.

Sitka blacktail deer, black bear, beaver, marten, mink, and seal are common.
