Description: This is a Pan Abode style cabin, 12 feet x 14 feet.

Location: Approximately 15.5 miles northeast of Skagway, near the Skagway River and Laughton Glacier. Longitude: -135.0927778; Latitude: 59.5469444

Water is available from nearby stream. Treat all water before using. Bring your own fuel for the oil heater (#1 Stove oil), sleeping bags, sleeping pads, cooking stove, lantern, pots, pans, plates, utensils, food, toilet paper, garbage bags, fire extinguisher and fire starter. This cabin is heated by an oil stove.

Additional Comments: Access is via 14-mile hike or a ride on the White Pass Railroad during the summer season to the Glacier whistle stop and a 1.5-mile hike on a Forest Service trail. Make reservations at least 24 hours in advance for train transportation. Rate information and reservations are available by calling the railroad at 800-343-7373.

Special Features: Sightseeing, glacier views, wildlife viewing in alpine/subalpine environment, mountain goat and bear hunting in season. Check Alaska Department of Fish and Game regulations.

Rental Fee: $35 per night.
