Admiralty Island Cabins
Church Bight Cabin Description: This is a large A-frame cabin with a loft. It has sleeping space for up to 7 people.
Location: The cabin is on the western shore of Church Bight, a small cove within Gambier Bay on southeast Admiralty Island. Longitude: -133.9258333; Latitude: 57.42611111
Access: Access is by float plane or boat. It is about a 1-hour flight from Juneau or 30 minutes from Petersburg. Occasionally poor weather can result in extended stays, and cabin users should be prepared for this. The steep beach provides a good boat anchorage. There is no mooring facility.
Terrain: The cabin sits back 50 yards (46 m) from the beach, as shown below.

The water source from a nearby stream is intermittent. A boat is necessary to get water from other drainages. Treat all water before using. Bring your own sleeping bags, sleeping pads, cooking stove, lantern, pots, pans, plates, utensils, food, toilet paper, garbage bags, fire extinguisher, and fire starter.
Special Features: You are in brown bear country. There are large tide flats within the bay. This is a popular cabin for hunting.
