Federal Excess Personal Property (FEPP)
Goal
Ensure sufficient and economical rural community and wildland fire
protection through
the loan of Federal Excess Personal Property (FEPP) to State Forestry
and rural fire departments.
Program Description This
program is authorized under the Federal Property and Administrative Services Act
of
1949, Pub. L. 94-519, and the Cooperative Forestry Assistance Act of 1978, Pub.
l
95-313. The FEPP program provides the opportunity for volunteer fire
departments
and the Alaska Division of Forestry to acquire personal property to supplement
their basic fire equipment inventories at minimal cost.
The Cooperative Fire staff assists Division of Forestry personnel by providing
advice,
guidelines, and assistance in the operation of the program, by coordinating with
the General Services Administration (GSA) and assuring that proper
administrative
control is maintained.
