Permanent Employment
All
permanent Forest Service jobs (along with other federal jobs) are advertised
through the Office of Personnel Management's USAJOBS
website. You can search the openings by agency, by location, by
salary range or by "series", a system for identifying the
type of work. Many positions are only open to current Federal Employees;
if you say no to the question on the search form about whether or not
you are a current employee, only the jobs open to everyone will be
shown in the search results.

|
Temporary Employment
Every
year, the Forest Service hires thousands of temporary (mostly summer)
employees for a variety of jobs, most of them in the field. Most positions are advertised on
the USAJOBS website in the
late winter or spring.
