Education:

B.S. Degree in Secondary Education from Boise State University, 1972 

B.S. Degree in Forest Management from University of Idaho, 1976  

Experience:

Ed began his career as a professional recreation manager with the Forest Service in 1976 and has since worked in Regions 1, 2, 4 and 6, in four states around the Northwest. During his career Ed has worked extensively in river management, wilderness management, and as program coordinator for developed and dispersed recreation, outfitter and guide management, and trails.  Other areas of responsibility have included ski area management, summer homes, special uses, minerals, and access management programs. 

Most recently he came from the Wallowa Whitman National Forest, where he served as primary staff for the management of two Congressionally Designated Areas; the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area and the Eagle Cap Wilderness.  Ed was a core team member in the revision of the Hells Canyon Comprehensive Management Plan and was responsible for management of the Wallowa Mountain Visitor Center.  He also served two years as an Environmental Protection Specialist for the BLM working with oil and gas development, and reclamation.

Personal Interests:

Ed has been on Ski Patrols for 38 years.  He likes to do home improvements and loves elk hunting and horses.
