Lewis and Clark National Historic Landmarks in Montana

Montana is blessed with several Lewis and Clark sites that have received world-wide recognition.

Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument
This remote location retains unspoiled, natural settings that form a backdrop for outstanding recreational and cultural tourism opportunities.

Wildlife Along the Lewis and Clark Trail
Using the daily journal entries see a spatial database, record and map wildlife distribution and abundance, make various ecological observations as well as encounter the Native peoples. An Oregon State University website.

Just 14 miles north of the Interpretive Center, Benton Lake National Wildlife Refuge offers opportunities for you to see 28 different species of mammals, including American badger, common raccoon, and coyote. You also may see 240 species of birds, including thousands of ducks, Canada geese, snow geese, tundra swans, and shorebirds that use the marsh during spring and fall migrations.
