Lava Mountain Trail #244

 

Length: 8.0 Miles (12.9 km)

 

Elevation Change: 800 ft. (244 m)
Trail Beginning: 6360 ft. elevation (1939 m)
Trail Ending: 7160 ft. elevation (2183 m)

Special Features/Attractions & Considerations: This eight mile trail was originally developed as a motorized Off-Road-Vechicle trail and is enjoyed by mountain bike enthusiasts as well. The trail is wide in areas and has several steep segments. It also provides access to the Cataract Basin on the Deerlodge National Forest.

 

Locator: Lava Mountain, Park Lake
Access is via Grizzly Gulch Road #137, then Forest Road #4000 to Lump Gulch Road #4009. The trailhead is approximately 1 mile north of Park Lake Campground.
