Forest-wide Travel Planning

The Helena National Forest reinitiated the Forest-wide travel management planning process in April of 2003. This Forest-wide travel plan effort is separated into three large geographic areas refered to as Blackfoot, Divide, and South Belts (see vicinity map). A separate travel plan analysis is currently underway for the North Belts area.

Currently, the existing forest travel plan is alternative one and proposed action released in April 2003 is alternative two. Through the scoping process additional conceptual alternatives have been developed for each of the travel plan areas (see links below). Comments on the proposed action or conceptual alternatives can be submitted to the forest through October 15th, 2003 (see comment form below).
