North Billings County Allotment Management Plan Revisions

Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement (SDEIS), 2011

Because of the time that has lapsed since the release of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the North Billings County Allotment Management Plan Revisions project in 2009, and because of changes made to the document based on comment analysis of the DEIS, a Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement (SDEIS) has since been completed and is available for review and comment. The SDEIS describes the North Billings County Allotment Management Plan Revisions project analysis.

In an effort to expand the comment base and the opportunity for public participation for the North Billings County Allotment Management Plan Revisions (North Billings) project, I have extended the comment period until September 21, 2011 to allow the public more time to formulate and present their comments on this project. This is an important project, and it's imperative that we make sure everyone has a chance to engage in the management of their National Grasslands.

Comments can be mailed, faxed, emailed, hand-delivered or made orally. Please address your written comments to Ronald W. Jablonski, Jr., District Ranger, Medora Ranger District, 99 23rd Ave W, Suite B, Dickinson, North Dakota 58601. Comments may also be hand-delivered to this address from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Faxed comments should be to the attention of Nickole Dahl, project leader, at (701) 227-7801. Oral comments should be given to Nickole Dahl, project leader, at the District Office or by telephone, (701) 227-7800, during business hours.

Electronic comments may be submitted to comments-northern-dakota-prairie-medora@fs.fed.us. The subject line must contain the name of the project for which you are submitting comments. Acceptable formats for electronic comments are MS Word, Wordperfect or RTF. For electronically mailed comments, the sender should normally receive an automated electronic acknowledgement from the agency as confirmation of receipt. The automated response will be: "Your document was received by the comments-northern-dakota-prairie-medora mailbox. This is an automated message, please do not reply. If a response is required by the Forest Service, it will be forthcoming." If the sender does not receive an automated acknowledgement of the receipt of comments, it is the sender's responsibility to ensure timely receipt by other means.

To ensure consideration, and establish appeal standing, comments must be postmarked or received at the Medora Ranger District office on or before September 21, 2011. If you have already submitted comments by mail, fax, hand-delivery, or received the email confirmation above there is no need to resubmit your comments unless you would like to add additional comments.

Please refer to the letter on this site for additional information.
