occured in November.

Public Meetings will be held:
January 30 at the Nye Volunteer Fire Department, Nye from 6-8
pm and
Febraury 6 at the Red Lodge Roberts Senior Citizen Center at
207 S Villard , Red Lodge from 5:30-7:30.
Additional Public Meeting will be held:
February 19 at the Red Lodge Roberts Senior Citizen Center
at 207 S Villard from 5:30-7:30

The wind event that brought widespread damage to the Red Lodge
area on November 12, 2007, also brought down hundreds of trees
on the Beartooth Ranger District. The Main Fork of Rock Creek
and theWest Fork of Rock Creek sustained the greatest number of
trees damaged by winds. Other areas of the District were also
struck by high winds and damaged or wind thrown trees to a lesser
extent.
SILVER RUN and LAKE FORK CROSS COUNTRY SKI TRAILS OPEN
The Beartooth Ranger District of the Custer National Forest has
cleared and opened the Silver Run and the Lake Fork Cross Country
Ski trails from the blown down trees. The Lake Fork Trail #1 is
cleared to the Wilderness boundary.
There are a number of trees down in the Main Canyon and West
Fork Canyon of the Beartooth Ranger District from the wind event
that occurred on November 12. Visitors are cautioned when recreating
on the Beartooth District due to compromised, leaning or hanging
trees and limbs.
