The Forest administers the majority of the North Fork Clearwater River drainage upstream of Dworshak Reservoir.  Private lands are primarily located in the headwaters of a few tributaries upstream of Dworshak Reservoir.  With the exception of the private lands, a few drainages in the lower and upper portions of the drainage, the majority of the North Fork is located roadless areas.  While the IDFG does not stock catchable fish within the North Clearwater River and its tributaries, anglers can fish for a variety of for naturally-reproducing fish, including wild westslope cutthroat trout.  Popular catch-and-release fishing is located in the Kelly Creek and Cayuse Creek drainages.  Anglers need to consult IDFG regulations to determine which streams have special regulations, such as wild trout limits and catch-and-release fishing.
