Campgrounds

The following compgrounds are included in the Recreational Enhancement Program on the Clearwater NF. They are located in the Palouse (84K PDF), North Fork (99K PDF) and Highway 12 (123K PDF) Recreation corridors.

PALOUSE Corridor:

Laird Park, Giant White Pine, Little Boulder

NORTH FORK Corridor:

Aquarius, Washington Creek, Noe Creek, Kelly Forks, Hidden Creek

Whitehouse Campground site 3

HIGHWAY 12 Corridor:

Wild Goose, Apgar, Wilderness Gateway, White Sands, Powell, Wendover, Whitehouse, Jerry Johnson

FEE SCHEDULE

Fees per campground unit range between $5 and $15 per night depending on services provided

FEES PRIOR TO THE FEE DEMO PROGRAM

  • Lochsa River Corridor campground fees have remained the same since 1999.
  • North Fork and Palouse Corridor fees have increased $1 to $2 dollars per site since 1999.

CHANGES PLANNED FOR NEXT YEAR

  • No changes in fee schedules are planned for next year
  • Program changes include spending carryover funds on increased visitor services
  • Use of Recreation Enhancement grant to complete web site where visitors can view campground pictures and get information relating to services provided at each location

SPECIFIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  • White Pine Campground: completed work remaining from 2000 recreation enhancement expenditures
  • Approx 20% increase in campground host support; this resulted in cleaner restrooms and improved maintenance on the North Fork District
