Sisyrinchium inflatum (grass widows)

Grass widows are common in open Douglas fir and Ponderosa pine forests in the middle and lower Clearwater River Canyon. It also is found in some meadows that are very moist in early spring but dry by early summer. It blooms early in April and is usually gone before mid-May.
