WHY COME TO NORTH IDAHO AND THE CLEARWATER NF?
THE OPPORTUNITY
This position primarily supports project activities on the North Fork and Palouse Ranger Districts. You'll work with several different project teams providing wildlife input to watershed-level assessments and project-level NEPA analyses that will range from CE's to EIS's. While most projects will be on the North Fork or Palouse Districts, teams may take on projects anywhere on the forest and possibly on the adjoining Nez Perce NF. The position is a full member of the North Fork District Staff and will serve as acting Ranger at times. The projects and issues are as diverse as the districts - see below. The Forest enjoys a strong working relationship with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game and the Nez Perce Tribe who both have considerable interest in projects that benefit or otherwise affect wildlife. Both districts have strong recreation programs with OHV and other trail developments in progress. A forest-wide travel planning effort is underway which will lead to implementation of the national OHV rule.

THE LOCATION
