Description: Multivariate regression equations were developed for predicting board-foot (Int. 1/ 4-inch log rule) and cubic-foot volumes in each 8.15-foot section of trees of four Hawaii hardwood species. The species are koa (Acacia koa), ohia (Metrosideros polymorpha), robusta eucalyptus (Eucalyptus robusta), and saligna (E. saligna). The four independent variables used are d.b.h., merchantable length, form class, and the diameter at the top of the merchantable length.
